Just a reminder...or an announcement if you haven't been paying attention. :-)

Starting Monday, October 21st, I will be moving to the night shift.  Although this will not prevent me from recapping new documents, it will mean that my PACER checks are going to be far less timely than you have become accustom to.

Fortunately you do not have to count on me for your up-to-the-minute Prenda fix.  Here are some people who you might consider following instead:

  • @lartoven (Calvin Li) who has taken PACER monitoring to the next level with his PACER Scraper Bot.  The PACER Scraper Bot monitors court RSS feeds and flags new filings in Prenda & Malibu Media cases.  It doesn't recap the documents (yet) and there are many courts that do not have RSS feeds to monitor but its a step in the right direction.  Those who have sponsored my efforts in the past might consider sponsoring his in the future.
  • @darthskeptic & @Zenofyle have beaten me to more than one juicy recap.

But you don't have to rely on others to check PACER for you.  PACER accounts are free to the public. Anybody who wants one can have one.  Having a credit or debit card is required because searching for cases and downloading documents is NOT free, but even here PACER isn't unreasonable.   Bills that total less than $15.00 for the quarter are waived.  $15.00 but you'd be surprised how far it goes....if you know how to stretch them.

That will (hopefully) be the subject of tomorrow's blog.  Stay tuned.
